The progress of the modernization works under the Amrit Bharat Yojana for six stations in Bhagalpur has faced a setback as Malda Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Vikas Choubey expresses displeasure over the slow development.
Taking swift action against the contractor responsible for the negligence, a fine of Rs 25 lakh has been imposed, with a stern warning to expedite the work and complete the project by March. The modernization initiative, costing Rs 25 crore, targets the upgrade of Kahalgaon, Sabour, Sultanganj, Banka, Jamalpur, and Munger stations under the Amrit Bharat Yojana, with Baijnath Nirman India Private Limited of Jehanabad handling the development. The DRM, dissatisfied with the sluggish progress, emphasized the need to accelerate the work during a recent inspection.
